Education and the CSO
Throughout the CSO’s history, a strong emphasis has been
placed on the Orchestra’s educational mission, its community
service, and innovative efforts to broaden the concert audience.
Today, under the artistic leadership of CSO Music Director Paavo
Järvi, that commitment is stronger than ever.
Educational Vision
The mission of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s educational
program is to establish life-long relationships with the community,
promoting active participation in music. The program shall encourage
participants to listen, appreciate, advocate, perform, volunteer
and contribute. The mission will be achieved through concerts
and services, partnerships with educational, social and artistic
organizations in our region, and a strong community presence.
Educational Mission
The mission of the CSO’s Education Department is to plan, implement and present age-appropriate orchestral performances and experiences of classical music with an emphasis on serving students in grades 1-12.
Important Partners
The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra gratefully acknowledges the
extraordinary support of Mrs. J. Ralph Corbett and The Corbett
Foundation. Income from the Corbett Educational Endowment will
be used to support and expand a strong, broad-based instructional
program to educate young people in the arts.
