Downtown Cincinnati honors the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra for their recent performance at Olympics – September 25 at noon
CINCINNATI—Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra have recently returned from a sold-out concert at the National Centre for the Performing Arts on August 9 in China. The Cincinnati Pops was the only American orchestra performing in the opening weekend festivities at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Join the downtown Cincinnati community for a brief event to honor the Cincinnati Pops for their tremendous achievements abroad and at home. Mayor Mark Mallory and Councilmember Chris Monzel, chair of the City’s Arts, Culture, Tourism and Marketing Committee will present a City of Cincinnati Proclamation to Maestro Kunzel.
The orchestra’s tour to China was supported by a gift from Edyth and Carl H. Lindner.
