Honor or remember someone with a gift to one of our Special Funds, which provide scholarships to young musicians or tickets to senior citizens, students and the disadvantaged. Gift of Music A long-standing program of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Gift of Music provides a way for donors to honor someone on their birthday, wedding, anniversary, birth of a child or grandchild, or for any other special occasion. Gift of Music may also be used to make memorial gifts. Prompt notification of the gift is sent to those being honored or the next of kin in the case of a memorial gift. Joseph, Jr., Scholarship Fund Income from this fund is used to fund scholarships for students of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra who are continuing their music education in college. Prompt notification of the gift is sent to those being honored or the next of kin in the case of a memorial gift. Fund for the Norman E. Johns Chair The Multicultural Awareness Council (MAC) of the Cincinnati Symphony Association established the Norman E. Johns Chair of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra in 1995. Honoring Mr. Johns' more than two decades of service to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the community, the award encourages the participation of talented high school orchestral students traditionally underrepresented in symphony youth orchestra programs. The award is given annually to support African-American, Latino and American Indian students in their pursuit of music and covers the cost of tuition in the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra. Jean K. Bloch Library Fund Income from this fund is used to fund the purchase & rental of orchestral scores for performances of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Prompt notification of the gift is sent to those being honored or the next of kin in the case of a memorial gift. Music Hall Seat Endowment Donors of $1,000 to this special fund can honor or memorialize an individual with a special plaque placed on the arm of a seat in Music Hall.
