John Morris Russell conductor
George Takei narrator
Dean Regas, Cincinnati Observatory special guest

Boldly go with JMR and the Pops on a mission to experience epic scores from Star Wars and Star Trek, along with selections from orchestral masterpieces such as Holst’s The Planets and Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra (popularized in 2001: A Space Odyssey). Host and narrator George Takei, “Mr. Sulu” himself of Star Trek fame, guides this space-themed multimedia musical extravaganza, featuring breathtaking NASA images on the big screen. Dean Regas from the Cincinnati Observatory helps us distinguish “science fact” from science fiction.

Have your photo taken with Stormtroopers in the Music Hall lobby before all performances!

Stick around after any performance for a stargazing lesson with the Cincinnati Observatory*! For the Sunday matinee, point your eyes at the skies with their solar scopes.

Tug-of-war*! Friday only (Sept 20), 7pm at Washington Park. Join a tug-of-war battle between Star Wars and Star Trek fans! Costumes are encouraged and there are prizes—and bragging rights—to be won!

Be sure to visit the Pops booth at the Cincinnati Comic Expo for a special activity that could make you a part of our Final Frontier show!

*Weather permitting
