SOUND DISCOVERIES: MUSIC FOR A CAREER provides educational and performance opportunities — and financial assistance where needed — for talented and motivated young musicians who aspire to careers in music performance, music education or music administration.

The Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) is an integral part of Sound Discoveries: Music for a Career.

CSO Backstage Career Workshops
CSO Backstage (grades 7-12)
CSO Backstage Workshops are a new educational initiative designed to introduce students in grades 7-12 to career opportunities in classical music. The onstage career opportunities in classical music are obvious, yet there are many exciting behind-the-scenes careers that may not be so obvious, such as concert production, marketing, finance and public relations. Presenters include CSO staff, musicians and other professionals. Each workshop is held at Music Hall and culminates with complimentary tickets to a CSO concert.
