CSO Weekend: February 16-17, 2007
Michael Christie conducting; Leila Josefowicz, violin. Two of Aaron Copland's most beloved works are on this program — the unforgettable Fanfare for the Common Man, written for and premiered by the CSO in 1942, and the Symphony No. 3, whose themes weave a uniquely American tapestry. A violin concerto composed by another American icon, John Adams, and performed by audience favorite Leila Josefowicz, completes the program.
