CSO Weekend: The French Connection
January 17-19, 2008
In what is sure to be a très chic evening, the celebrated pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet brings his passion and panache to the work of his fellow Frenchman, Maurice Ravel. Ravel’s energetic Concerto for Left Hand astonishes in that it is never apparent to the listener that the pianist uses just one hand. We close with Mussorgsky’s majestic procession to the “Great Gate of Kiev.”
