CSO Weekend: March 9-10, 2007
Paavo Järvi conducting; Yefim Bronfman, piano. Prepare to leave Music Hall in awe after this program, which features world-renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman in performances of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3, whose lore was revealed in the acclaimed film Shine. Also hear the Suite from Prokofiev's score for the film Lieutenant Kijé, which vividly chronicles the "life" of the fictitious Lieutenant (listen for the famous "Troika," complete with sleigh bells), and Scriabin's intriguing Symphony No. 2.
