CSA Committee Descriptions

Education/Community Service
Lollipop Family Concerts
Volunteers help promote and present these Music Hall concerts for children ages four through nine by coordinating the distribution of flyers, assembling "goodie bags" and helping decorate Music Hall on the days of the concerts.


Sound Discoveries
Provides music appreciation classes for second grade students in the Greater Cincinnati area. Volunteer docents are given pre-planned lessons to present during their eight visits to their designated school.
Friends of the Pops
Volunteers work on various projects throughout the year to plan events and projects that will promote the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.

Merchandise
Committee designs, selects, & orders merchandise. Volunteers sell merchandise before concerts and during intermissions.

Newsletter
Volunteers put out at least four newsletters a year.


Membership
Volunteers keep track of the FOP membership dues ($7.50) and develop activities and events members.

Promotion/Publicity
This committee is responsible for identifying and developing new audiences for the Pops Orchestra.

This committee is responsible for all FOP fund raising events
Fund-Raising Events
Volunteers work on various projects throughout the year to raise funds for the orchestra. Projects undertaken this year include: Opening Night, New Year's Eve Gala Concert & Ball,

Parties of Note (PON), Parties of Half Note (PO1/2N) and the Home & Garden Tour. Participation may include: invitation mailing, party solicitation, decorating, or working at an event.
Marketing/Audience Development
Volunteers work on various projects throughout the year to raise funds for the orchestra. Projects undertaken this year include: Opening Night, New Year's Eve Gala Concert & Ball, Parties of Note (PON), Parties of Half Note (PO1/2N) and the Home & Garden Tour. Bravo Shop at Music Hall
Committee designs, selects, & orders merchandise. Volunteers sell merchandise before concerts and during intermissions.


Gift of Music

Volunteers arrange and assist in coordinating the mailing of promotional material at least once each year to solicit monetary donations for the remembrance fund. These donations are used to purchase tickets for students, handicapped persons and those financially unable to attend concerts.

Pre-Concert Lectures
Volunteers recruit and assist in the presentation of lectures given by professionals who preview the music to be performed prior to Music Hall concerts. Lectures are free.

CSOEncore!
Events are planned to promote and enhance the concert experience of individuals in the 20 to 40 age ranges to encourage their future concert attendance.
Membership and Communications
Directory/Handbook
Volunteers produce and mail a directory of all current CSA members along with pertinent CSA information.

Historian
Volunteers assemble selected CSO printed materials, photographs, correspondence and memorabilia for display or file to be retained in CSO and CSA history.

Leadership Meeting
Committee invites a facilitator to provide leadership training for CSA volunteers.

Mailing
Volunteers collate, address, and prepare large amounts of mailings for CSA events and meetings.

Membership Events
Volunteers arrange the fall and spring annual meetings. Details include arranging for location, invitations, decorations, refreshments and entertainment.

Newsletter
Volunteers gather news on upcoming CSO and CSA events and produce a newsletter four times a year to keep the membership informed.

Record Keeping
Volunteers update and maintain records for the CSA membership.
Multicultural Awareness Council (MAC)
Open Door Series
Committee plans before or after concert activities at selected concerts to help promote more culturally diverse audiences.



Educational Development
Promotes culturally diverse educational programs at the CSO. Norman Johns Chair - scholarship for the CYSO.
