The Multicultural Awareness Council (MAC) is a group of diverse, community volunteers whose mission is to foster and increase awareness of the CSO programs in the greater Cincinnati area through cultural and diverse music programs, educational and community partnerships, scholarships for talented minority student musicians and building diverse audiences and artistic development.

In conjunction with the CSO's community relations and education efforts, the Council has hosted special multicultural events and programs and has established the MAC Norman E. Johns Chair Award for talented African-American and Latino members of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra. One of MAC's most successful projects is the MAC Open Door Concerts celebrating the cultural diversity, history and heritage of the season’s outstanding artists and composers.

MAC also hosts receptions throughout the season for concertgoers to meet artists, CSO musicians and staff.

MAC is a division of the Cincinnati Symphony Association.
