Frequently Asked Questions for CSYO Auditions
Q: When are auditions held?
A: Auditions will be held August 9-12, 2017. They will be held at Walnut Hills High School.
Q: Are there warm up rooms on site?
A: No. There is a common room for warm up.
Q: When should I arrive?
A: You should plan on arriving at least thirty minutes prior to your scheduled audition. It is very important to make sure you allow yourself extra travel time and look out for possible traffic or weather delays.
Q: Should I memorize the music?
A: Memorization is not required.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear nice dress clothes that are comfortable to perform in. Remember that this is the first impression you will make on the panel listening to you. It would be a good idea to practice in the clothes that you are planning to wear at least once before your audition.
Q: Is financial aid available for membership in the CSYO program?
A: Yes. Financial aid information will be shared after audition results are announced.
Q: Are home school, private school, and charter school students eligible for membership in the CSYO program?
A: Yes. Any student may audition for CSYO membership.
Q: Why is there an application fee?
A: The application fees are used to cover administrative costs of the auditions.
Q: I am regularly involved with many extra curricular activities. Is this a problem?
A: Attendance requirements at rehearsals and performances are expected. Students are allowed two absences per concert cycle. If you know that you will have significant conflicts you might wish to reconsider auditioning for the program.
Q: If I am accepted, what is expected of me?
A: You should carefully read the student handbook for expectations.
Q: May I audition on two instruments?
A: We strongly encourage students to audition on their primary instrument.
Q: Who will listen to my audition?
