I remember like it was yesterday.

In February of 1992, I was a junior at Oberlin College and every Sunday evening I faithfully called my parents in Fort Thomas to tell about all the exciting happenings in my life and to hear about everything happening back home. The subject dominating this particular Sunday conversation was the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s concert performance of Manuel de Falla’s opera La vida breve, which they had attended the evening before at Music Hall.

Spotlight on Rob McDonald

For this month's Spotlight we feature CSO Board Member Rob McDonald.

As a member of the CSO and Pops Board of Directors since 2014, Rob McDonald is passionate about getting young people involved with the Orchestra and invested in Cincinnati. “We bat way out of our league with the CSO and to me that’s one of the reasons I wanted to get involved and stay involved.

Dear Friends,

One of our most highly anticipated annual events involves nearly 200 incredibly talented musicians on stage, an exceptional soloist, a wildly enthusiastic audience and beloved repertoire. Of course I’m referring to the CSO’s Side-by-Side concert where talented students from our Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestras (CSYO) program perform with the CSO.
