What's Interesting

  • West Chester native Christina Nam, who made her CSO debut at age 9, and Coleman Itzkoff, the cellist son of two CSO musicians, described as having “flawless technique and keen musicality” (The New Yorker), join internationally renowned concert pianist Awadagin Pratt for Beethoven’s joyous Triple concerto.
  • Written just prior to West Side Story, Bernstein’s Overture to Candide bursts with rambunctious and tuneful melodies.
  • In Joan Tower’s meditation on America the Beautiful, the tune keeps getting interrupted, but the melody keeps coming back. It’s as if to say, in Tower’s words, "I'm still here, ever changing, but holding my own."
