Series 1
Spellbinding and intense, Anna Clyne’s This Midnight Hour showcases the low strings and winds of the Orchestra in all their cinematic glory. Then, cellist Alban Gerhardt returns to the CSO stage for Elgar’s fiery and elegant Cello Concerto. To close the program, conductor David Danzmayr and the Orchestra bring to life the piece Brahms took decades to perfect—his Symphony No. 1 an homage to symphonic giant, Beethoven.
