Presented through a regional partnership of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Miami University.

 

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Summer Brass Institute offers exciting opportunities for advanced brass musicians from high school through pre-professional. Housed at Miami University's Oxford, Ohio campus, this week-long institute takes place June 3-10, 2024 and provides brass players with high-level instruction and mentorship by musicians of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra brass section and Miami University brass faculty.

Grades 9-12

High School Program

Calling high school brass musicians from the Cincinnati area! Explore the world of brass chamber music alongside professional counterparts from the CSO and Miami University. In this week-long intensive, students work on refining technique and elevating musicianship through the chamber repertoire, with special opportunities to meet other passionate musicians and perform in Oxford, Ohio & Washington Park in downtown Cincinnati.

Pre-Professional & Professional

Orchestral Training Fellowship

Designed to prepare musicians for positions in major orchestras around the world, this pre-professional/professional fellowship includes intensive daily coaching sessions by seasoned professionals, mock audition experiences, masterclasses on a variety of audition and job retention topics, and ensemble performance opportunities.

 

The Orchestral Training Fellowship selects 4 Trumpets, 4 Horns, 3 Trombones and 2 Tubas for participation.
