Already a volunteer with the CSO?
CSO’s affinity groups are composed of communities of individuals with a shared love of music who engage in common experiences and come together to support the Orchestra in a variety of ways. Group leadership usually consists of two co-chairs and members have many opportunities to serve as event chairs or in other leadership positions. Current Affinity Groups include Encore, Multicultural Awareness Council (MAC), Parties of Note and Spectrum.
CONCERT ENHANCEMENT VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers help to ensure that each guest has an unforgettable concert experience with the CSO and Pops. This includes roles such as Bravo Shop Attendants, Concert Concierges, and Wayfinders. Occasionally additional opportunities are available to dress up as costume characters to assist with special events and more!
The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops is committed to ensuring that music is a foundational part of children’s lives and education in the city of Cincinnati. Many volunteers are needed to work with children of all ages in sharing their love of music and instrumental talents, including at Lollipops Family Concerts, Music Labs, and Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) events.
Volunteers who work with the Marketing Department help to raise awareness about the CSO and upcoming performances! The CSO Street Team, open to volunteers of all ages, distributes posters to businesses and organizations around the city. Volunteers typically commit to covering a particular neighborhood where they live or work. Community Event volunteers engage with guests at various local events, including the Holiday Market, Cincinnati Comic Expo, and Washington Park performances.
NEW! The Student Ambassador program is a unique and competitive volunteering opportunity for undergraduate and graduate college students in the Cincinnati region. Students volunteer 1-3 hours per week, completing fun and socially interactive tasks around their campus and the Cincinnati area to help raise awareness about the CSO and promote upcoming concerts. Many CSO administrative departments are in need of weekly assistance for projects, data input, and various other administrative tasks. These volunteers spend at least 6 hours per week working directly alongside CSO staff to ensure the success of concerts, events, and other important programs. Volunteers are currently assisting in the Music Library, Philanthropy, and Marketing departments.
If you have questions about any of the above opportunities, please contact Sarah Maguire, Volunteer Manager (firstname.lastname@example.org, 513-744-3360).
